New features

Desk based assessments and fleet assessments will also be included in the OCRS, so your score may change.

Desk Based Assessments (DBA)

Desk Based Assessments (DBAs) are a core function of DVSA. Currently outcomes from these assessments, whether satisfactory or unsatisfactory, do not receive a score in OCRS.

By adding DBAs, we will include more ways in which we interact with you that will help reduce the volume of operators who are currently in the grey or unknown risk category.

Fleet assessments

Fleet assessments are an essential part of monitoring maintenance regimes and drivers’ hours records. How often we visit your premises depends on your OCRS rating and DVSA risk assessment.

Visits help us to establish whether your transport management systems are effective in ensuring vehicles are operated safely and legally.

Adding fleet assessments to the OCRS system means we can better identify how frequently an operator should be assessed.

Future changes

The improvements to the reporting system will also ensure that any future developments can be made quicker.
