Subject to Parliamentary processes, both changes will be introduced on Monday 15 November 2021. We’ve updated the guidance on GOV.UK about how the changes work. It includes new information about what you or your pupils will need to do if you or they already have a provisional licence for category C and want a provisional CE licence. We’ll continue to keep you updated as we prepare for the changes next month. Changes to car and trailer testsAs we told you in September there will be new rules about towing a trailer or caravan with a car later in 2021. The new rules will mean that people who passed their car driving test from 1 January 1997 will be allowed to tow trailers up to 3,500kg maximum authorised mass (MAM).
