Halfords has launched a major driver safety initiative underpinned by Webfleet connected fleet management technology.
The solution is being installed across the Halfords Mobile Expert and Halfords Commercial fleet of 700 vans which deliver mobile tyre services, including fitting and tyre repairs, to thousands of customers every day.
The company will be using Webfleet’s OptiDrive driver behaviour functionality to reduce speeding and other unsafe driving events, such as harsh braking or cornering. OptiDrive scores will be used to incentivise and reward safe-driving technicians – and to help those that fall below a set standard to improve, through driver training.
Karl Baker, Operations Director, Halfords said:
“With such a large fleet, it’s critical that our technicians out on the road are driving responsibly and respectably at all times.”
“Webfleet has enabled us to bring all our tracking and driver management tools together into one easy-to-use system. The technology has been configurable to our needs, which has made the switchover seamless.”
