DVSA is updating the Motorcycle Single Vehicle Approval (MSVA) Inspection Manual from 15 September 2025.

What are the changes?

The following sections have been updated:

• Section 06, Annex 2: Lighting requirements for 3-wheel mopeds and light quadricycles

• Section 07: Unauthorised use

• Section 08: External projections – unbodied vehicles

• Section 09: External projections – bodied vehicles

• Section 29: Glossary of terms

The changes are explained in the ‘Release notes’ at the beginning of the manual and in the ‘Record of revision’ page for each section.  

How can I see the updates?  

The updated manual is available to view from today, Monday 8 September. The changes will come into effect from Monday 15 September.
